A clinical challenge – Grzybowski’s disease

AS Singh, CJ Van der Walt, A Bruce-Chwatt

Abstract

Grzybowski’s disease, or generalised eruptive keratoacanthoma, is excessively rare. We report a case of a 60-year-old male who presented with hundreds of cutaneous papules involving his neck, arms, chest, back and legs. Histopathological appraisal confirmed multiple keratoacanthomas. Based on the clinical presentation and histopathology findings, a diagnosis of generalised eruptive keratoacanthoma of Grzybowski was made. This is the first report of a patient with this entity in the South African context.
